ABOUT THE URBAN CHICK
I have been raising chickens for 12 years and have loved every minute of it.
It has brought me joy and sadness, laughter and tears, frustration and peace, but no matter what, it has never been a regret having them.
After I was comfortable with the knowledge I had gained caring for grown chickens I decided it was time for my next adventure....hatching my own chicks.
I did not take this adventure lightly, I did tonnes of research and talked to lots of people until I felt comfortable enough to take the plunge.
My first hatch was the most nerve wracking and thrilling experience all at the same time. I came through with flying colours and from there the next adventure started......caring for chicks.
As they say "the rest is history"
I have never looked back and decided I would love to share my experience with others. This is where The Urban Chicks comes in. There is nothing better than seeing the excitement, especially in children, when the chicks start to pip and hatch.
I have also expanded my flock to include two peafowl. I have a peacock named Pedro and a peahen named Gabriella (Gabby). In the summer of 2023 Gabby hatched 5 peachicks which I have to say were the cutest little things I have ever seen.
Well, there you go, that's me in a nutshell. I look forward meeting new clients and seeing all the chicks they hatch.
